Judd is likely to play an immigration defense attorney trying to arrange the adoption of a Nigerian girl.
Ashley Judd is in talks to join the cast of writer-director Wayne Kramer's ensemble immigration drama Crossing Over for The Weinstein Company, says Variety.
Already starring are Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, Sean Penn and Cliff Curtis. Frank Marshall, Kramer and Gregg Taylor are producing.

Hollywood star Ashley Judd wants to carry the voices of 5.2 million HIV-infected Indians to the rich and famous to create awareness and support to fight the disease.
At a gala event recently at Lincoln House, the American consulate here, Judd made a passionate appeal to the glitteratti, industrialists, Bollywood stars and celebrities to do their best to fight AIDS.
When I was invited for this programme, my initial reaction was negative. I thought I don’t want to meet rich people. I only wanted to meet the poor,” said Judd, who is in India as a representative of Population Servics International (PSI), a Washington-based non-profit welfare group.

Miditech produces AIDS awareness documentary for NGC with Ashley Judd

PSI and National Geographic Channel come together for a documentary film on her trip to India. The film is being produced by Miditech and will premiere on NGC on World Aids Day, 1st December 2007.
The film follows Ashley as she embarks on the HIV trail in India to see how this deadly disease spreads from Mumbai, the AIDS hub of the country to other places across the country. She is joined by Bollywood stars Sushmita Sen and Akshay Kumar who hope to create some kind of positive change through their public personas. Shahrukh Khan who also appears in the film invited Ashley to his film set and promised to help in the fight against AIDS.

American actress Ashley Judd and Mexican actress Salma Hayek urged people to combat the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) as one, an epidemic lurking over Central America. Both of them affirmed in a press conference that all society's spheres, government, churches, civil organizations and private parties, must come together as one to stop the advance of the HIV-AIDS pandemic.

After spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention in Mumbai among sex workers and slum dwellers, Hollywood actor Ashley Judd is set to meet corporate executives and industrialists in Delhi to convince them to take up the issue that has affected 5.2 million people in the country. The star of movies like "High Crimes" and "Kiss the Girls", who is on a three-week visit to spread awareness about HIV-AIDS prevention and maternal and child health, will be in Delhi for four days during which she will also meet several NGOs connected with AIDS awareness in the city. In Mumbai since her arrival on March 8, the actor teamed up with Bollywood star Sushmita Sen for a National Geographic documentary on AIDS awareness in the country.
Judd, who is in India at the invitation of Population Services International (PSI), a global initiative that generates funding for grassroots programmes in 65 countries, visited Mumbai's biggest red light district Kamathipura.

NEW DELHI, March 19 (Reuters Life!) - Hollywood actress Ashley Judd said on Monday her experience of emotional, physical and sexual harassment when she was young has helped her relate to abused women and understand their problems.
Judd, known for her Golden Globe-nominated role in "De-lovely" in 2004, is in India to promote women's rights for Population Services International, a Washington-based group focusing on the health of low-income populations. "I was emotionally, physically and sexually harassed in my youth and I can say truthfully that I'm grateful for my past experiences as I can now understand the problems of women better," the 38-year-old actress told Reuters in an interview.

New Delhi, March 19: While fighting against AIDS, Hollywood actor Ashley Judd may also try to get justice for a little girl in Bihars Katihar district. Judd was visiting a camp run by the international organisation, Apne Aap Women Worldwide, in Dakshinpuri on Tuesday when she heard about Naina Khatun, a minor who was rescued from a brothel, but only to be sent to a remand home.
She was told that the CJM of Katihar had ignored the pleas of Naina and her mother to reunite them and had instead sent her to Patna Aftercare Childrens Home. Judd said she would make Nainas case an international campaign, said Ruchira Gupta, founder-director, Apne Aap Women Worldwide. But Judds publicists only said that they will decide after reviewing all the relevant documents.
