Charlize Theron's Puppy Mill Investigation
Oscar-winning actor and PETA supporter Charlize Theron appears in a new anti-fur billboard debuting on Sunset Strip this winter. The Monster star poses with her dog, Tucker, beneath the slogan "If you wouldn't wear your dog, please don't wear any fur."
Theron's billboard illustrates that the only difference between your "best friend" and animals killed for their fur is how they are treated. All animals feel pain and suffer when trappers and farmers break their necks, drown them, or electrocute them for their pelts.

Theron Defends Charity Support
Charlize Theron has hit back after a charity accused her of having double standards by supporting both medical research and animal rights.
Patient Advocates Against PETA demanded Theron attend a discussion next week to defend her support of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an organization they claim hinders the search for a cure for AIDS and other deadly diseases.
But Theron's spokesperson tells the New York Daily News, "Charlize is proud to support both PETA and AmFAR (American Foundation For AIDS Research).
"We were never contacted about her participating on such a panel, and she is working on September 7. It's unfortunate that the PAAP can find fault in the fact that anyone supports two such important organizations."

Charlize to assist SA Aids charity
CHARLIZE Theron has promised to visit South Africa more often to contribute to a proposed charity that will tackle HIV/Aids and the abuse of women and children.
At a tea party in her honour in Pretoria this week, hosted by US Ambassador Cameron Hume, Theron canvassed the opinion of journalists, activists and government officials on ways to confront HIV/Aids and abuse.
"Violence of any kind is unacceptable and we can stop it with our voice," said Theron, who appeared in a controversial TV advert opposing violence against woman a few years ago as part of the "Real Men Don't Rape" campaign.
She appealed to South Africans to create a compassionate and caring society and to act together to overcome violence. She emphasised the role of education in precipitating change, saying: "Where there is knowledge, there is change."
Theron said she hoped to help make therapy and counselling "readily available" to those who needed it, and that she supported steps to speed up the prosecution of rape and violence cases - such as improving access to DNA testing and results.
Hume said South Africa was a hopeful model for the world, since it had shown that change was possible.
